Poland - World Scout Jamboree 2027

The 26th World Scout Jamboree will be held in Poland, on the beautiful island of Wyspa Sobieszewska in Gdańsk, from 30th July to 8th August 2027. The theme for the Jamboree is "Bravely."

As you may have seen, The UK Scout Association has committed to participating in the World Scout Jamboree, but with a smaller contingent. Scouts UK and British Scouting Overseas (BSO) will together be taking just 70 units, compared to the 125 units taken to Korea in 2023. This will reduce the number of young people able to attend. That said, here in Kent, we have been able to secure 3 full units for the 2027 Jamboree - the same number we had in 2023.

Sheppey District have secured 2 spaces for young people from the Isle of Sheppey.
Sittingbourne, Milton & District have secured 5 spaces for young people from Sittingbourne and Milton.

We believe that attending a World Scout Jamboree is a core part of the Scouting experience, and we’re thrilled that Kent will be well represented.

Could the World Scout Jamboree be for You?

The World Scout Jamboree is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, with tens of thousands of Scouts from all over the world. It’s about making new friends, trying new things, learning about different cultures, and discovering what you’re capable of.

But it’s also a big commitment. It takes time, energy, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone. This experience isn’t right for everyone, and that’s okay. There are lots of other amazing opportunities in Scouting, too.

This description is here to help you decide if applying for the Jamboree is something you’d enjoy and grow from.

  • Applicants must be born between 30 July 2009 and 30 July 2013
  • Applicants must be available to attend a selection weekend on 28th - 30th November 2025. This will include an overnight stay, which could be the Friday night and/or the Saturday night

What Kind of Young People are we looking for?

There’s no such thing as a “perfect” Jamboree participant. We’re not looking for the loudest, the most confident, or the most experienced. We’re looking for a mix of people who are ready to:

  • Be part of a team – listen, support others, and work together
  • Try new things – even if they feel a bit scary at first
  • Be open-minded – meet people from different backgrounds and cultures
  • Get stuck in – whether it’s cooking dinner, putting up tents, or joining in activities
  • Grow – learn about yourself, challenge yourself, and come back with stories to tell

You don’t need to have done anything like this before. You just need to be up for the journey.

What will be expected of me?

If you’re selected, you’ll be part of a Unit with other young people from Kent. You’ll:

  • Take part in training weekends and team-building activities
  • Help fundraise for your place and support others in doing the same
  • Represent your community and the UK at an international event
  • Be ready to learn, laugh, and maybe even get a bit muddy!

What is the Cost?

The total participant fee for the Jamboree is still to be confirmed. We are expecting it to be somewhere between 3-4 thousand pounds per participant. This will be an all-inclusive cost that covers the Jamboree itself, travel, all training weekends, and unit apparel. The fee is payable in instalments as follows:

  • December 2025
  • March 2026
  • June 2026
  • September 2026
  • December 2026
  • March 2027

Although this may seem like a lot of money, fundraising is a big part of every Jamboree experience. We will be here to guide, support, and encourage you throughout your fundraising journey. You should be able to fundraise the majority, if not, all of the cost.

Applications close on 8th November 2025.
